Tonight the San Diego Chargers and 5 foot 6 Darren Sproles rescued the great game of football from a week of BCS bullshit. The Chargers-who were at one point this season 4 and 8-dispatched the vaunted Indianapolis Colts in overtime, sending perennial Super Bowl contenders to an early exit. On a day that began with reports of San Diego Super-Back Ladanian Tomlinson's torn groin, few would have thought that this diminutive back up would log nearly as many yards in one game as he had all season-including a game winning touchdown run in overtime. You can't make up better storylines than that-but that is why the NFL rules. The Chargers will now get to play another deserving team. Whoever wins will play another deserving team-until there are only 2 deserving teams left. The result will be a few great weeks of the most intense, and hotly contested football that there is to be seen.
